Replace plastic dash with older metal one

Post by Theduke »

Can you remove the plastic dash of a late 1980s grand wagoneer and replace it with a metal dash from the 1970s.
Did they change dimensions or was it just a material swap.
I prefer the older gauges and feel the metal will hold up better than my current plastic dash in my 89 GW.

We put a 69 dash into my 89. Customized some stuff along with vintage air, but nothing associated with mounting the dash. They did have to modify the steering column hole to align with the 89 column alignment. pics are in the link in my signature of the work done to the jeep, including the dash.

I also preferred the metal dash.
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.
