Just 1 or 2 or 100 small things and it will come to life
It has 60 -80 lbs oil pressure on the drill and 50ish when cranking Image

Well it came to life !
I quickly realized the fear, cooling system air locked due to radiator hose being to high.
Got that fixed for now , it is not a permeant fix.
But it does run !

Well , after a bunch of searching and trials I am ditching the OLD BJs radiator as finding a good fan and shroud is impossible
I have the original radiator back from the repair guy and will be using the factory fan and clutch for now
The issue is the radiator I picked up for cheap was one of BJs original design and they have changed it considerably since

Can you guys tell me what these are?
They were in the parts bucket of headliners parts that came with.

I finished the front headliner and installed the go go pedal , was just a go go stub before

Just have to get it to exhaust shop, safety inspection and registration finished

Brown parts are for cargo cover, top 2 go closer to tailgate, bottom piece (should be two) is mounted behind rear seat - they are both screwed to the cargo window trim. No idea about white ones, but they look like another type of cover holders that go near tailgate

Headliner looks awesome, good job!

Kind of what I thought , I don’t have the cover so I will set these aside for now

For the headliner I used Quiet Ride sound deadening and insulation kit and BJs Headliner kit , right before Christmas they had the Nutmeg kit , so it only took 8 months but it is installed
I know where 2 mistakes are but it’s not a show truck

Just about ready to go on maiden voyage outside of the subdivision and fphizlshhhhhhsuirfvc
So now I am waiting on the trans shop and what to do about the transfer case
A few of you saw my thread about the mystery hole in top of transfer case housing


I had thoughts of doing this during the engine rebuild !! But , naaas it’s good let’s go for it !!

I am hanging tough, too close to the finish line , i know there never is a finish line..........
The kindness of another Wagoneer guy, he had an extra 727 and 2 229's
the 727 is finished at the re-builders
i picked the 229 with the most resistance between output shafts in 4 high , 2 of them i could turn in different directions with my hands 1 took large pipe wrenches
AND the mysterious leak in the Transfer case was resolved, on the transfer case about the 2 o'clock position passenger side back main case there is a rubber plug, mine was missing this and as i drove was spouting fluid all over the exhaust i am surprised how much fluid this rubber plug holds in.
I am working out the vacuum to make sure it all works, all the bits and pieces work but they don't work when assembled
meaning when i plug all the connections together and the Shift Actuator ,, apply vacuum and shift the 2wd - 4wd level nothing happens , i know the switch is working i tested that, it switches between the Yellow and Green hard lines, wondering if the blocks where it goes to the steel lines are bad

you know, those New Process cases aren't really that tough to rebuild, in case you were thinking. I will offer you this though. when you install it, use threaded rod in the top 2 holes to support the weight of the case from above. "slide" the case along the rods until it seats in the trans output hole. bolt up the side and bottom holes, then remove the rods and put top bolts in.

prevents damaging the input/ output seals, which will leak if crushed.

Most of us work alone, this is an easy, inexpensive method that prevents sadness and thrown tools...

That’s a good idea ! The dowel rods
I have t been able to find , and I honestly didn’t look to hard, a VC if I was to rebuild it
I have a good 229 now I believe and also stirred up a 242 which I think I would put the money in that where I have 2, 4 PT and 4 FT and 4 low
A SYE and proper input shaft would run me the same if I could find a VC

Nothing new right now to report
I am currently waiting on the converter back from the rebuilders, trans is in the shed and it is about 10` outside so the rebuilder can take a couple more days
