My first take at custom routed exhaust. I’ll probably take the mock up to a shop and have pipe bent to match. But idk might try weld and run it.

The only one of those bends that looks like it might impact power is that first sharp one but I would even say that isnt worth the effort to get it bent out of one piece.

Finished up a bunch more welding on the exhaust.

I don’t know who needs to know this but if your hood battery goes out, don’t opt for goggles. I’ve got a serious Santa red nose and rosey red cheeks to match. Full sun burnt.

Probably a little worse than sun burns. Gonna gather last two exhaust parts and battery before I continue.

Been there but not because of a dead battery. Worse, there was no room for the helmet so I was closer than normal to the arc. Shoulda known better since I'd gotten sunburn on my arms many times.

Alright,

It’s been a minute but really it’s all thanks to
Lm7 exhaust bolts. Finished the exhaust started it up and it sounded horrible. After a cursory inspection I found broken exhaust bolts... 5 total. After some research I find this
Is super common among LS motors from Silverado’s and the like because they hung too much of the exhaust weight.

- check your manifolds before install
- add extra hangers after

I got one middle broken bolt out, welding a nut to the unwelcome stud.

I was not so lucky with the front and back ones.

But.... I found these bolt on clamps that apply pressure instead of a bolt. Cheap and easy. Will test shortly.

Welp, had the opportunity so I took it and sent moose off to paint today.

It will be a couple weeks of updates and no work for me. But between spring Weather and fresh paint, I can’t wait to get tinkering.

First drive. Made it to end of driveway and tranny cooling line popped out of snap fitting.

Windshield installed. But still found wet carpet when it rained. Fresh air vents are sealed off completely and windshield has fresh gasket. Maybe my roof rack isn’t tightened down…. Grumble

That dash is really something! The paint job lots great, that first drive has to feel good even if it ends with an ATF mess
