He's south of Spokane. He might be able to meet you along I90 for the price of gas? He's 1 hour south east of Spokane Valley.

I sent you his info via e-mail through the forum about 10 minutes ago. If it did not go through, let me know and I'll resend it.

I've never heard of, or seen this happening before, but my accelerator cable snapped in half.

It ran clean through the firewall, so no obvious rubbing- crazy weird.

That is odd. Maybe at some time in the past wire cutters were pressed against where it broke and over time as the accelerator moved it slowly weakened the cable..

Panel delivery resto-mod wagoneer build

Post by 66stepside »

Yeah, very odd. I replaced the line, the metal part only with some slightly thicker stuff today.

I cut the old line thinking it was old and brittle, but it was a tough as the new stuff so I can even think of an explanation. Your explanation might cut it (lame pun, but it had to be done).

It's also pretty weird how one side is frayed, but the matching end on the smaller piece is not. Crazy.

Edit:

I knocked the S (starter) wire off the ignition so I had a mild panic attack when I went to drive it today. I did not test it all out last night due to the rain.

So I finally got around to swapping out the ignition switch to one with an original key!!

Gotta love the fact that there is still some brass plating on the jeep logo.

I also dig how those Kaiser-era keys have the quarter'd circle image on them, behind the word Jeep. The designers did a nice job with making that work in a small area like a key.

True, true. A very classy design- timeless really.

I am a sucker for a classic timeless design!

Sam Adams is a great beer. Named after a great patriot. The beer is brewed in Boston. I gotta say, I am so thankful that America has weathered as many storms as she has and always comes out on top becuase we have our freedoms due to patriots past, and patriots present. A patriot is someone who still believes in the American Dream and works toward that dream without hurting others in the process.

No, I am not drunk. I haven't even cracked a cold one open. I am just proud to be an American. Now, I think I'll have that beer.

Hate to be the downer in such a wonderfully patriotic post, but a true patriot should also know the rules by which we fly our flags. An American flag is never pinned down at the bottom, but always allow to fly "free".

Got so say though, love your project, hope mine comes along as nicely as yours.. Subbed!

Lol, "true patriot". I didn't see the "pinned down... fly free" specific words in your link, though. Interesting pov.

True story. I went out to get it a little while back and it was gone. I did get the eggs. When it shows up again it'll get the same treatment.

I'm not a fan of spiders.

Edit:

She's on eBay- no reserve, starting bid is lower than most would expect.

She sold for roughly 4800.00, so now the buyer needs to follow through.

True! The white one is a small window cab with the custom can script. I thought small windowed cabs only went on larger windowed cabs, but I guess not.
I confirm, the large rear window or "deluxe" rear window is not included in the "custom cab" option, chrome grille and front bumper are included

Ok, thread from the past time...
Do you have very many pics of the barn doors?
Do you still chat with new owner, maybe get some pics for these doors I got from you?

I’ll dig through my archives and see what I can find.

What kind of pictures were you looking for specifically?

The bottom latch for the drivers side. The whole bottom is gone where the bottom latch would be. I also need pics of the latch the passenger side latches to, it is also gone.
Thank you sir.

Ok, maybe it was the fact it fell on me, but I’m resurrecting this thread for the 78 Cherokee I picked up awhile back.

It’s been languishing on the back 40 of a Christmas tree farm and I’ve been working on getting it for the past 4 years. It finally all came together at the beginning of September, 2020.

After a few weeks of wrenching in her, she’s been on a few mild neighborhood runs to see how she’ll do.

Aside from the carb, complete tune up, serious cleaning, a round of wet sanding the firecracker red oxidized paint, I just wrapped up the new muffler, and coil over shocks in the rear.

It was the coil over shock install that got me thinking about the panel delivery. I was installing coil overs on it when the unthinkable happened.

Fast forward to this evening, I just cleaned up after the muffler and rear shock install, the plan moving forward is to keep her and tinker here and there, sparing my LJ some winter driving time.

Yeah, this was the muffler on her:

I’ve always had a wag around, but this is my first Cherokee. I’ve chased Cherokees before, especially the manual versions, but could never quite get one- this one is an automatic, though. It’ll certainly do.

It came out of the high mountains of Colorado 15 years ago where it served as a seasonal ski resort rig at their Condo for their occasional winter retreats.

The family sold off the condo after the last passed on and the cousin bought her off the estate, brought it to Spokane and never did much with it except buy a new carb for her (yet did not install it), and he also had new floor pans out in by a shop on the northside.

Then it sat for the rest of it’s time on the farm.
