Pics of lift kits

Post by Walter »

Looking for ideas on lifting an 83' Cherokee. Have bad sag on front and back. We are trying to decide if we want 2 or 3 inches of lift. Anyone willing to share pictures of theirs to help us decide? What did yours cost?

The cost difference between a 2", 3", or 4" lift is very minimal. The springs cost the same. The only difference would be shocks are required for a 3-4", while stock shocks typically work fine for a 2".

Are you wanting to keep stock tires, or do you want go up to a 31x10.50 or similar sized tire?

www.bjsoffroad.com has several lifts for you to choose from.

Thanks,
It currently has 31s on it and we will probably stay with those or go to 32s. It was lifted in the past I believe but is all flattened out now. Was hoping to see some pictures of others to get an idea o over all look before purchasing.

Thanks,
Jeep looks great. The Cherokee we have will be my wife's. She is five foot two and I was afraid four inches may have been more than she would want. Based on your pictures i think we would be safe with that. Appreciate the pics,
Walter

This is 2" add a leaf with 32s. Not much room for flex but that gives you the idea. A year later we knew this was not enough and picked up a used Rancho kit that was 4" springs for front and blocks for the back. She has some rake because I left the 2" AALs in the back.

We like running 31s on her better though.

4" Skyjacker lift with 33's in back, 31's in front (in middle of swapping meats)

Same but 33's on, and rear trimming complete.

Same but with front trimmed (and woodgrain faded considerably...)

Shimniok, how bad was the rub with the 33's and no trimming?

I'm in the same situation, trying to figure out what an appropriate lift height would be, as well as what size tires and wheels would give a good asthetic look.

The pictures in this thread are very helpful, but I would like to make an additional request, and that would be to also know what size the wheels are? Are they 15" or bigger, and how wide, such as 7", 8", or 10"?

Something that I haven't seen mentioned much is the offset of the wheels. This would effect the stability of the rig, as well as the asthetics. What are most folks doing?

Thanks!

Chris
