Rough Country 3” Lift U Bolt Kit

Post by CheckEngineGarage »

I’ve got a quick question. I have an issue with the u bolts. The kit has two larger u bolts and two smaller. I understand the need for one larger u bolt. One larger u bolt for the differential side. On the passenger side now I have a larger u bolt that will not fit. Am I missing something? 1986 GW.

You are correct. Only one should be Large. The other 3 are the smaller ID

They gave you the u-bolt kit for the wrong year. 74-79 and 80-91 use different sized u-bolts.

74-79 use two large, and two small.

80-91 use one large, and three small.

My opinion: I have it in my 87, at slow speeds it’s horrible. I’m not happy, I will be switching to a BJ’s kit or skyjacker.
