I plan on using a TH400/D20 combo. Ill probably have 6-7" lift and I plan to get custom drive shafts from either Tom Woods or High Angle Drive line, are they the best choices? Or are there others? Also if it matters or not, i'm hoping to get 500-550 lbs of torque and 450-475 hp out of my 401
Well, all depends on how much angle you need to run the lift. 6-7 doesn't warrant anything crazy. 1350 cv shaft in front is easiest. You can make a regular ujoint shaft work in the back. I would highly recommend Curtis at Tattons Driveline Service in Salt lake city. He ground out my 1350 cv for 35 deg of travel and has a 9" slip shaft. Price is also hundreds cheaper than the other 2 you mentioned.
Tom woods is good. They were not any more than the local shops and their quality is high. They will talk options with you.
I have soa/sf and about an inch of spring lift. I kept the CV front and regular U-joints in the rear and that's with an Altas 4 speed which sits back a little farther (but helps with the front angle). Although I ran the same drive shaft setup with a np208 and no issues.
