I was going to share my info for my truck on the Texas full size jeep site. But I can't get registered because I guess I don't understand how to answer his spam bot question. I guess I'm stupid or something. O'well his loss....

J-trucks Duallies are rare, let alone a J2000, almost all the duallies had the long wheelbase
Elliott created a registry for these awesome trucks http://www.txfsja.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=20
Do you mind sharing the VIN or a pic of the VIN plate ?

New springs would be certainly custom made, i should be able to find the OEM springs rating for this truck if it may help
There is a shop in my city that can make me new springs. If you could fine those OEM spring spec that sure would be a big help! :-bd

Ok so after a lot of screwing around and back and forth with PennDot of tinplate stencils I finally got a title to my jeep truck. And as it turns out according to Penndot the truck is a 1969... and not a 1967. IDK

I hope you get it worked out. That Gladiator deserves to live on. It can't be a 69 though. 68 was a crossover year that started with the AMC 327 V8 option and ended with the Buick 350 V8 option. All 69 with V8 were 350.

It is not easy to determine the year from the VIN on 63-72 models.

The first 5 characters:
24 indicates J-2000 4WD Gladiator
06 indicates Cab and Chassis-Truck (no bed)
Z indicates 8600 GVW With Dual Rear Wheels

Last 6 are the sequential S/N:
6-232 Engine 200,001-299,999
V8-327 Engine 50,001-199,999

My best guess is that this dually is a 65-67 model.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the sequential S/N:
In mid 1968, the 350 was the V8 option and the S/N would be:
V8-350 Engine 300,001-399,999

I agree, actually according to some 65-67 records and a technical bulletin, the build date is february 67

BTW for 68-71 it would have been more difficult to estimate the build date, AFAIK the only figures or data around for these years are more global and not on a monthly basis

If the truck started life under federal ownership it was not licensed or registered in any state. When it was sold out of federal ownership it was registered with model year that it was sold. It was not uncommon to find 50s and 60s vehicles and equipment with model year that was 10 to 20 off the vin.
79 Cherokee WT QT Golden Eagle white with gold windows "Pigger" only blows hubs the night before a road trip or the clodest night of year. Has only been towed cause of stupid.

Good remark, i have an old Dodge which was used as a firetruck, the model year is 4 years off the VIN

Another dually!

It's great to see another dually still around. There are now three represented here and over on IFSJA, yours, mine and a third now owned by a member over at IFSJA.

I still have it. Haven't started fixing it up yet but that may be happening soon as the property it is at is in the process of being sold. So the truck will be coming home with me at that point.
