Dauntless 350, Turbo 400, Dana 20

Post by Yeller »

I've got a running and driving drivetrain in my 1970 J2000. The engine runs well, has a slight smoke puff at start up but runs great. Transmission shifts great and the D20 is complete and functioning. Everything is currently installed in the truck, runs and drives. I can ship via motor freight, up for some community shipping and I travel a fair amount, might work out a delivery. I'm pulling the drivetrain to do an LS swap. I have no idea what this might be worth and am open to offers, if no one buys it I will probably scrap it so don't be bashful with a price if your interested, I'd even give it to a good home. I'm willing to do a compression test, you can come here and test drive it, we can do a video call, send pics, whatever works for you.

This is located in the Tulsa OK area. Let's Make a Deal :D

This is coming out next week…. Anyone interested in making a deal? At this point I’d take $200 for all of it.

Engine is out. $200 or best offer. I can ship as well. Everything is complete, however the engine is just a core, had a valve train failure of some sort. I’m also willing to break it up so if your interested in any part of it speak up, I’m sure we can make a deal.

With the motor being dead and finding a broken bell housing I’m down to a Dana 20 with a th400 adapter and transmission output shaft. Perfect if you have a dead quadratrac.

Any chance you would have the dauntless to th400 adapter as well?

My understanding is that it may work for a vigilante too. Looking to pull my t-85 and put in a th400. Need the adapter to the engine though.

I do. The t400 adapter is really weird, I cleaned it up and have it hanging on the wall. I’d take $50 for it or $150 for it, the transfer case, output shaft and front drive shaft plus shipping. I actually will be in Austin in the next couple of months if your not in a hurry and could deliver.

Looks like (per the other thread), the 350/Buick, and my 327 won't have the same adapter. Bummer.

I’d be interested in the whole deal for spares for my 69 if you still have it. I’m in Dallas if you’re traveling through to Austin.

Ah. Didn’t see the notes about the dead engine and bell housing issues. Did you scrap that stuff?

I did, it’s long gone. The only thing left is the tcase, tcase adapter and transmission output shaft, figured someone would want that to get rid of a Quadra Trac but haven’t had any takers yet.

Are you still looking for an engine/trans/xfer case setup? I’ll be removing mine from my ‘70 Wagoneer. I’m in OKC.
