PENNSYLVANIA-MARYLAND FSJs

Post by FlatFourVW »

UPDATE: I sold my Wagoneer. You may see it around!

So where are all my fellow PA and maybe Maryland too (I'm near the line) FSJ drivers here on FSJNetwork and from IFSJA?

What prompted me to post this topic was I'm on a couple VW boards we have "sightings" threads that get deleted quarterly. Anyway, I was sitting in traffic this afternoon in my GTI, and I glanced across the intersection to see an 80's white Grand Wagoneer, lifted, no roof rack, tinted, and had fogs. I waved but of course I was in a VW. And that's how this thread was born.

I live in Maryland now but I am very familiar with York. I grew up in York county and have family in Red Lion, Dallastown and Hellam. Takes me about 45 minutes and I am there. Hope to see you around when we are up in the area.

As a fellow vw/Audi guy I know all the "sightings" thread over on Vortex. I'm right off rt83 in MD exit 27 in the Hereford/Monkton area.

I'm planning on going to the show up in York in July so hope to see some of you guys there.

Heading home on i-83 today in York, I saw (but didn't get my camera ready fast enough) an awesome early 70's lifted yellow Wag with the thin woodgrain stripe and tough bumpers and a hell of a tire carrier on the rear. Anyone here or on IFSJA?

For at least the third year in a row, every time I come out of the York toy show, this Cherokee is parked in the vendor parking. It wears Maryland tags. Anyone on here?

Hey,a voice from the southwestern pa
Horace Greely said go west young man, so I did. Greetings from Pittsburgh near the Ohio border. I purchased a 83 J10 from North Carolina last year and looking forward to restoring it. The vehicle is in good shape for its age, PO sprayed POR 15 on the exterior(?). The interior is ok but the bench seat needs to be redone. Thinking of putting bucket seats in but difficult to find mounting brackets.
I had a J10 before and I let it go for some stupid reason. Transmission would not shift and a practically gave it away. Found out that the automatic tranny is vacuum activated and a line had rusted through. :banghead: What a bonehead, but I didn't know that at the time.
Current 360 engine has a gm throttle body injection system, runs great. Looking forward to taking my time and doing it right the first time. Easy to say, I' sure being in Pa that I'll hit a few potholes along the way. :-bd paknght(Mike)

Hey Mike, Glad to hear you're near by. We should definitely get or rigs together for a ride when they are ready. The TBI is a nice score, not so sure about the POR15 on the exterior though! :P I'll look for some project posts from you.
