Random Holley Sniper EFI Question

Post by Fury5 »

I am fixing to install a Holley Sniper 2-barrel system on my 1990 GW. I will be using the stock 2-barrel manifold. Do folks recommend reusing the stock base insulator plate and insulator gasket? Or can I just toss those.

Many thanks.

for 2bbl tbi it isn't needed.
just use thick fiber gasket holley2300 style.

a carb needs the phenolic spacer to prevent heat soaking body & fuel bowl.
EFI doesn't have fuel sitting around soaking up heat like a carb.

That's great news. When I took the freshly rebuilt carb off, I discovered that the mechanic who installed it had overtightened the nuts and cracked 3 of the four stud holes so the spacer is now trash. This was, of course, the same mechanic who thought the vacuum feed to the power valve was a source for manifold vacuum. So he connected the power valve directly to the vacuum advance on the distributor. No wonder the motor ran rich. Took me a while to figure that out since I never imagined quite that level of incompetence!

Anyway, now on to fuel injection. Thanks so much for your reply.
