Lokar / Sniper bracket

Post by ArchitectJS »

Need help, two questions:

My jeep has is 258 i6, and the PO had done a half-assed nutter bypass previously. I don't have the benefit of seeing how the original linkages where constructed, how they pulled, etc. The jacket is missing from half of the throttle cable and the kickdown linkage was jerry rigged. It fell off the tranny when i was inspecting how it was installed:

I'm in the process of installing the Sniper and bought new Lokar throttle cable and kickdown cable to clean up these issues. I also bought the Lokar bracket for the Sniper.
  • The bracket doesnt work with the Sniper, maybe a different version of the Sniper, but not the 2 barrell version. There is no room to fit in on and the pull is incorrect.
Question #1; anybody have any insight on what bracket or brackets i need? Seems like i need a downward pull... maybe there different linkage for the EFI...

Question #2; the kickdown on the tranny; at WOT should this be pulling the lever toward the rear of the Jeep? It seems like there is a spring returning it forward to a "neutral" position, with a fair amount of play that allows it to move farther forward (to the front of the jeep)
