Just received the evaporator yesterday, so I'll start trying to fit it under the dash soon.

Also made a patch panel out of an old valve cover for the firewall.

I will probably just pop rivet it in place since this hole doesn't go into the inside of the wagoneer.

This is the vent kit I went with, looks a lot like the factory set up.

It has a single vent pod that goes to the left of the steering column.

The rectangle vent just pushes in from the front. The round one unscrews and the vent pushes in from the front and then you can screw on the collar from the back.

I'am going to use the hole that the original ac lines went through. Used a hot ice pick to mark what needed to be cut.

I used some blocks of wood to hold the evap in place while I tried to figure out how the ac lines would fit. This is going to be a very tight space to make this work.

So once we had an idea where we wanted it to be mounted, we pulled the blocks and I held the unit in place while my son marked the bottom holes of the mounting bracket. The fact that my dash is already installed, makes it extremely hard to get the evaporator lined up. It can be done, but it ain't easy. Once it is marked, you can pull the unit out and remove the mounting bracket so you can use it to mark the two top holes you could not get to while the evap was in place under the dash

Also, you will lose most, if not all of your glove box storage. Not sure what I'am going to do about that.

It would be almost impossible to get a wrench on the top bolts of the bracket so we welded them in place. Everything is so tight, welding those top 1 3/4 inch bolts to the bracket makes it hard to rotate the evaporator in place, but it can be done. Also Vintage air shorted me a hardware kit that is need to bolt the evap to the fire wall, so I went to the hardware store. The top bolts get a 3/4 spacer which is needed to get the drain angle correct. Don't forget to do that, you will have drain problems.
