This is a pic I took, with the blower motor still connected to the evaporator. The only way you could ever get to the heater hoses and that ac line is to remove the blower motor. Make sure you leave yourself enough room so the blower motor can be removed.

I will probably have to mount the unit and pull it out a few more times. I still have to locate and drill the two holes in the firewall for the 5/8 inch heater lines. Also does anyone know why the factory A/C hose cover would have these two small holes in it between the lines? I have two of them and both have it. Just curious.

I think the wire to compressor clutch goes thru the small hole, can also run the wires to heater valve

Thanks Ed, I took it apart years ago and don't remember that. :-bd

Good call on removing the blower motor, I usually just leave the upper/inside screw installed, can't get to it when reinstalling blower motor, never had a problem with just 5 screws holding the motor.
Curious about the glove box, did not have a problem with my 86/91 dash, could you take a straight shot of the opening and what the old glove box will touch, not unusual to cut the cardboard box's down to clear stuff.

Did Jeep use a heater valve on some models? I always thought coolant was flowing through heater core all the time on all FSJs

I think Ed was just saying the hole could be used for the heater valve that Vintage Air uses. Not that factory Jeeps had a heater shutoff valve.

Oh, that makes sense! I was just curious about shutoff valve for heater

My son and I ran the ac lines temporarily and hooked them to the evaporator. We wanted to make sure they would fit with the blower motor in place, and they do.

Maybe mounted to far to the left?

Don't have the heater hoses figured out yet. I have a few ideas, but nothing is standing out as a solution yet.

Probably, but I was afraid to go any further right. I was worried about needing room for the a/c lines to bend around the blower motor. I will still have some glove box, but the right side will have to be shallow.

I think I’m probably about 6” or more to the right, had to cut the mounting bracket to clear the hole in the firewall, getting the lines/ hoses cleanly thru the firewall is one of the toughest parts of the install

Yes, now I see how you were able to get it more to the right. I can layout a simple hard line on paper, but I don't have the ability to lay a set of lines out like those.(those hard lines came out great) I'am good with where it is at, and okay with the smaller glove box.

Slow going right now but did get a patch panel made for the firewall today.

Used some black RTV sealer and have it riveted in place.
