Wheeler Dealers Grand Wagoneer episode

Post by Mustang Shooter »

Hey guys,
I saw a commercial for the show Wheeler Dealers on Velocity, that they will be doing an episode on an 88 Grand Wagoneer.

Today, 8 PM CDT · S15 E02 on Velocity

"Mike and Ant dive into the scorching market for iconic American SUVs with a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer; the car has good bones, but it also has a sagging suspension, four-wheel drive that won't engage, and is in desperate need of a makeover."

Time is 9:00pm / 8:00pm central.

Later,
Dan

Cool! I like that show. I think it's on Motor Trend On Demand too, right?

I think it’s only some episodes, but yes since discovery bought TEN they’ve uploaded a lot of discovery shows.

Yep, I saw it on MTOD a few days ago. Pretty nice build. Custom hand painted wood grain that looked amazing!

I don't know if anybody else here watches Flying Sparks Garage on YouTube, but they are building a cummins waggy.

Old thread I know, but can anyone figure the lift amount and tire size of the jeep in this episode?

Tires look like 33x10.50 BFG KO2's, lift is most likely a 4" Skyjacker, which gives closer to 5+ inches of lift. I don't think its an actual 6" lift because most of those use 4" rear springs with 2" blocks, and that waggy doesn't have any blocks in back from what I can see.

So a 4” skyjacker can clear 33s?

It can clear skinny 33’s on skinny wheels. 33x12.50’s are a no go. And even with the skinny ones, you may have to trim the rockers right in from of the rear tires a small amount.

So they either have more than 4” or smaller than 33s I guess?

6” lift technically fits 33x12.50’s but you still need to trim in back. Waggy wheel openings are just tiny.

I've seen that episode at least three times.
They wanted to use stock wheels so they chose 33x10.50-15's for the build.
I don't know the lift they used but it looks like a spring under variety.
