Cleaning polished aluminum mag wheels.

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone has experience cleaning non coated aluminum wheels, Iv been told I should acid wash then polish them, they have some light corrosion so not sure if I should sand them aswell. Image

What I did on mine was use a sander using the round discs. Started with 100 grit, moved to 220 then coated in clear enamal paint.

I use mothers aluminum polish and a little elbow grease...works like magic :)

It would be magic without the elbow grease.
I used to name my FSJ’s after their previous owners, I realized I had too many with five named Rick.

Figure of speech my friend :) One could use a drill and a buffing pad too I suppose :)

The reason I went with a sander was due to pitting.

Mine have some light corrosion, I Wana see how they turn out after a wash and polish before going farther, been raining every day so haven't messed with it.

Mothers power ball and polish has worked good for me in the past. Won’t take out pits, but will bring back the shine

I used the mothers polish and micro fiber towels, I couldn't justify the cost of the powerball, but that was before I had ever polished a wheel.
