Diesel compression gauge on gas engine?

Post by TUDrewser »

This is probably a stupid question, but any issues using a diesel compression gauge on a gas engine? I know you can't go the other way around, but other than possibly losing a little accuracy, will it still work? I'm not even sure I have the right adapters for spark plugs, but figured I'd ask first...

not going to over pressure it for sure, don't see why it wouldn't work.

I think it would not work but there is no issue while experimenting there is a say a decision can double your experience if it fails and double your confidence if it got passed so go head and check and share your knowledge.

I would be kind of surprised if a diesel compression gauge actually screwed into a spark plug hole. But if it does, the only possible issue I see is that it maybe does not go low enough? Often as devices measure higher pressures, they have a minimum pressure that is required in order to register.
