Wiper Knob Removal

Post by SugrDaddy »

Dumb question for you all... How do I remove the knob off of this wiper switch? The whole unit is loose and I think I need to remove the knob so I can tighten the switch.

Small flathead screw underneath the knob at least in earlier ones.

There's no screw but It does have a little metal clip around the shaft of the switch that is attached to the knob. It looks like you're supposed to squeeze the clip and pull the knob but that doesn't work.

Maybe the later ones. My 67 has a small flathead set screw. It took me breaking a knob off to realize that when I switched from ivory to chrome knobs.

Push the clip toward the knob (flatten against the knob) with a small flat-head screwdriver and it should slide off. IIRC.
