front differential vent hose

Post by Triumph215 »

Where does the vent hose for the front differential mount?
Mine's floating around unsecured and I don't see an obvious mounting point, I already found it pinched between the steering parts and have zip tied it up out of the way. The metal mounting clip is still on it so I know it goes somewhere.

It seems this question was asked recently and worded very much the same.

The clip attaches with one of the radiator mounting bolts.
I used to name my FSJ’s after their previous owners, I realized I had too many with five named Rick.

Hmmm, I hope it wasn't me and I missed it.
That's where I would have put it but wanted to put in the right place instead of just someplace.
Thanks much

I had it mounted to cruise servo bracket while factory cruise was still in. Radiator is probably better place

And I also had it in the way of rag joint, which ate a bit through the hose :)

On my '77 Wagoneer it is mounted with a single hole hose clamp on the passenger side, on the fender about 3-4 inches bellow the starter solenoid. Appears to be original.

Well I cant say for certain where original location is however I have taken apart a few dozen FSJ's, I found most of them attached to the radiator bolt. I have found a few that were not, I can only assume that these were misplaced by someone.
