1974 Cherokee. The paint is yellow on the body with a white top. The paint is original. The closest thing I've found to the color is renegade yellow, but it's not the same code. New to FSJ's. I cannot find the code anywhere online. Tried to post pictures of the stamp and jeep, but the files are too large. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Is this a rare color for these? We have to do a bit of body work and paint the hood and would repaint with the factory color if it is worth it. I would like to go with a different color but not if this color has any value.
There are maybe 8 different two-tone combos from 1974. These are shown in the parts book. I don't think any of these are particularly "rare." Records about which colors are most common almost certainly were destroyed long ago. JMO - I would keep the original color unless I absolutely hated it. Who knows what the next owner will like, and keeping the existing colors makes a patch-up or respray much easier.

Gonna tell the wife that its high value so I don't have yellow floors and blue exterior lol also on a side note...I have a lever coming through the underbody and into the cab under the driver's seat. Looks like its coming from the transmission. Will have to get back under to see which its hooked too. Not sure if this is something stock or after market. I have Quadratrac transfer case and a 727 Torqueflite. I have a Haynes manual coming but figured I'd ask some owners first.
the cable may have been substituted for a lever, as the cable gets rusty or frayed, it might have been inoperable ... I have the same issue, I can engage the low range, but one out of 2 times I need to crawl under and use a wrench to get off the low range... yes, in neutral, no Ebrake, on a flat surface, preferable dry... I even leave the engine on to stay warm -may be- don't we like to live dangerously...?
As for the color, it was not listed in the site that I order touch up paint
