Hey everyone! I’ve been looking for a vintage truck or SUV for a fun project, and ran across a really decent 1975 Wagoneer. However, I’m 6’5” and concerned about if I can comfortably fit (legroom and especially headroom). I’m a 34”-36” inseam depending on pants. The one I found has the bench seat and tilt wheel. It’s several states away so I unfortunately can’t sit in it in person. Any feedback from fellow giraffe-sized FSJ owners? Thanks!
I am 6ft 3in tall, 34 inseam. And I have fit pretty well in both a Cherokee/Wagoneer, and a J-Truck. The J-Truck has tons of headroom, but does have less leg room. In my Cherokee, I actually never had the seats fully back, it was 1-2 clicks forward.
The one thing to be aware of is they do not have a telescoping steering wheel, so the farther back the seat goes, the more your arms reach out. Tilt wheel was optional for 66 and newer. Standard on Grand Wagoneers (84+).
And as an interesting comparison, Arnold Schwarzenegger owned a Grand Wagoneer for many years.
So I guess my best answer is "most likely". I guess it kind of depends how long you intend on driving. Driving around town is different than 4 hours on the HWY.
