All 4 new tires are leaking air pressure every 3 days

Hey guys, ive been having issues with the tires i have had installed since day 1 about 6 months ago. I purchased 9 mastercraft courserer axt tires from a place called burke automotive in burke virginia. For both of my ZJ's 1 tire was a spare. After 2k miles 1 tire blew and the cause was underinflated tire. This waso n the 4.0 which my mom drives. I took us over a month of fighting and calling cooper "the manufacterer" to have the tire replaced because how does a tire get underinflated unless it had a nail in it you know what i mean ? My blame was on the installer burke automotive for impoerly installing the tire or valve stem.

Finally cooper relented and gave us a new tire and burke refused to help. The last 3-4 months my 5.9 ZJ all 4 TIRES yes ALL FOUR have been losing air pressure.. every 3 god damn days i go from 40 psi to 30.. Normally i would inflate to 36 psi but i put em at 40 so i can drive longer without inflating. I called the place and they refuse to help. So brought it to another shop and they put my jeep on a lift and sprayed all 4 tires with a soapy solution all over and in the beads and valve stems and they couldnt find air coming out. The only thing i can think to do is have a shop put a tire in a dunk tank or something..

What pisses me off is how we have had nothing but problems with these tires or the install of them and this Burke automotive place refusing to fix their BEEPY install. Some people are blaming my rims corrosion.. yea okay bullcrap i never had this issue with my old tires which still had tread on em. And my rims dont have corrosion. the factory paint is still on the alloy rims and when i saw the tires off the rims looked brand new inside.

I looked closer at my valve stems and all of them on the rubber part have little slits on them like they used a clamp or some kind of wrench with teeth on it to pull on the valve stem when they installed it. And i suspect this is where the air pressure is being lost.

What should I do ? This place refuses to help and i dont feel like i am responsible for the $120 its going to cost to have a shop replace the valve stems. But im also tired of replacing the air every 2-3 days.. plus i imagine this is wearing my tires out unevenly :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

submerge a tire in water and document where the leak is coming from.

How far are you from Arlington Va? If you can get on ft Myer, talk to Steve at the auto skills shop. He can probably help ya find the issue.

Let me send him a message and see when he's gonna be at the shop. He likes challenges and is almost done with his master cert so no dummy. :)

I agree with Will E, submerge the tire(s) and see if you can find it.

If it ends up being valve stems, you could always replace them yourself. Not sure if the 98 Grands have TPMS or not, but if they don't the valve stems will run you less than $10 for a set. From there you just need a jack, air compressor and a ratchet strap. I just did one a few weeks ago, took me longer to get the wheel on/off the vehicle than it did to replace the valve stem.

Some times the little bar code label stuck on tires (ALWAYS on the bead for some stupid reason!) will cause them to not seal well to the rim and leak. If they didn't use bead sealer.

I always remove them with a wire wheel when I mount tires now.

Spray soapy water around the inner and outer beads, and the valve stem. Take the cap off and also spray some on the core.

well a friend of mine got me a sams club card on her account for free. sams club members can get tire leaks fixed for free.

They dunked 1 tire and the entire bead around the rim was leaking air... WTF, he took the tire off and the rims werent cleaned inside.. he started using a brush all kinds of dust n crap was coming off.. wow.. all 4 tires were like this.. he also used bead sealant too and now my tires are holding at 36 psi

I spent $1300-1400 for 9 tires from this burke automotive that did the improper install... pisses me !!!

Write a review of that BEEPY place. Yelp is a powerful thing.
