Its really amazing that a million of them have been built. They went on sale at the end of 2006. Its not like this is a passenger car like the Camry or something. They get poor fuel economy, don't have a super quiet, smooth ride, and have limited functionality. Yet currently Chrysler is running double shifts at the Toledo assembly plant and still cannot keep up with demand. I am sure it helps that it has no competition (The FJ is not really competition) and that there are *SO* many after market parts for them.

But, I sure enjoy mine a lot. And it really reminds me of the saying we use int he Marines for our rifles: "This is my Rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine." In the case of a Wrangler, there are lots of them, but it is very easy to make yours unique.

They all look the same to me. Every time I'm on the trail, all I see is the same aftermarket bolt-on crap on all those JK's. I call 'em 'wallet jobs'. Anyone with a credit card can 'build' one.

I'm glad to see so many of 'em being built here in the USA :-bd

Here in a few years I'll buy one that's never been used and hack it up

Oh sure, lots of people that bring it to a shop and have them bolt everything on. But still plenty of guys that fab their own junk for them too. Just like every other Jeep.

At least you see them on the trail not a the mall... :D I think it is a kind of "fashion", have a Jeep with a more aggressive look for scare the people or other car driver in the city , and the off road they make is once a year a dirty road, or the grass in the front yard... :D
I understand and know that everybody do whatever they want with the stuff they own, but why have a Jeep with winch, 35, for go to the grocery store? :-? :D

I've noticed something about the JK drivers...Unless they're modded pretty good they never do the Jeep wave. :(

Yeah. If its modded I always get waves. But there are a lot if them where the owners are not keepers and its just another SUV to them. But same went for TJ's back when they were new.

When I'm with the JK other modified Wranglers (YJ-TJ-JK) wave back to me, :) if I drive the Wagoneer or a J-Truck, nobody wave back... :o :( Only puzzled face, or a WTF do you want face... The last face is usually from Patriot, Compass, Cherokee, Commander, Grand Cherokee, etc people.

Someone did the Jeep wave the other day and I was checking out his lifted/built TJ and didn't notice. I was driving my lifted red Comanche at the time.

I thought the same at EJS. They all looked just like the Poison Spider 4dr. All on 40s. They travelled in herds. They are so big and slow we call them trail cows. :)

I don't care what anybody says about them, they work awesome in the woods. my buddy bought a '13 rubicon unlimited to come wheeling with me. he couldn't be bothered building and fixing some old beater. he had no clue what he even bought. he didn't know it had front and rear lockers. didn't know anything about the 4:1 transfer case, he knows about the sway bar disconnect, but I don't think he understands why. he first brought it out to a trail ride with 800 miles. everyone was ragging on him. had it out a few times with us, but barely drives it on the street. like expected hes always whining about something scratched or how the dirt doesn't want to come off the soft top. but then will turn around and say ahhh that's what I bought it for. I rode with him a couple times and I felt like I should be driving my wagoneer right to the junkyard after that. nice quiet ride, smooth, flexy, doesn't beat you to death on the trails, nothing banging and knocking around. doesn't stink inside, comfy seats... compared to a 78 wagoner anyway. I couldn't bring myself to do that to a nice vehicle though. ill probably give in one day and replace the waggy with a beat up used jku.

He's done all that with fiberglass. Some really amazing stuff, and from the looks of it, very high quality.

I'd love to get the CJ kit for my TJ.

My wife & I own a 2013 Jk, & we wave every chance we get. Thou alot of people in our area don't notice or even wave back. The other weekend we went to see the in-laws in des moines & passed a gal in a black jk that didn't wave. Then a second later I seen a bright neon green JKU on 35's heading towards us. I told my wife watch I bet this guy waves & he sure did! About snapped his wrist waving so hard. I bet that guy goes to parties asking people if they've seen his jeep? lol

I feel bad when I miss a wave. I always try to. I have a stock '14 JKU Rubicon, but I also have a CJ-7. I've been doing the Jeep wave for a long time. Sometimes when driving my wife's car I forget and try to wave. That gets me interesting looks. :)
