Well, here it is guys. The new Fiat/Alfa baby Jeep. Very curious to see what you all think of this one.
I'll probably get blasted, but I think it looks pretty darn good for what it is. Much better than the Cherokee, anyway! It looks like a cross between a traditional Jeep and a Mini Countryman. Ok, time to put my flame suit on!
Best looking 4x4 ive seen from the Italians in... FOREVER! Haha, not bad. I am curious to see how people will modify this new generation of jeeps. I cant picture one with a lift, cut fenders, and a stinger sticking out on the front. I guess only time will tell

I think it looks great! The side profile isn't great, but I like the front end. Kind of reminds me of the Nissan Cube.
And it will get Jeep by the Cafe standards. Its not intended for those of us that like to off road, but is great for people that just need a small SUV for inclement weather or the like.
For customers who demand the most off-road capability from their Jeep vehicles, the Renegade Trailhawk model delivers best-in-class Trail Rated 4x4 capability with:
- Standard Jeep Active Drive Low (20:1 crawl ratio)
- Selec-Terrain system with exclusive Rock mode
- Increased ride height 20 mm (0.8 inches)
- Skid plates, and red front and rear tow hooks
- Unique fascias deliver 30.5 degree approach, 25.7 degree breakover and 34.3 degree departure angles
- 17-inch all-terrain tires
- Up to 205 mm (8.1 inches) of wheel articulation
- Hill-descent Control
- Up to 480 mm (19 inches) of water fording
- Up to 1,500 kg (3,300-lb.) towing capability with MultiJet II diesel engine and 907 kg (2,000- lb.) towing capability with 2.4-liter Tigershark engine, with available tow package
Here's pics of the non-Trailhawk version:

Better looks than the new Cherokee. And it has round headlights at least. Now you can get your 17 year old daughter a jeep that she can go to the mall in and get a bunch of 'OMGs' and 'LOLs'?
Actually it does look pretty good for what it is. Way better than the Kia or Nissan or Mini (vehicles it will compete with). Wish we could get a small diesel here though. I'd risk laughter if I could get 45-50 mpg in an awd wagon.

I know some of you guys will hate me for saying this, but I think a used Subaru wrx wagon would be a good DD for when I go to college. obviously it doesn't get 45 mpg, but 22mpg is better than 15! I'd consider one of these renegades too, but it wont be in my price range for a college student car

Lots of Jeeps (FSJ's included) have low ranges that are at or worse than that. 80+ Wagoneers have a crawl ratio of 17.4:1 with 2.73's or 21.1:1 with optional 3.31's, so you cannot really bag on a crossover for having a better low range
And the "rock mode" changes the way the computer activates the traction control and center diff. The different terrain modes make a big difference in the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.

My Escape doesn't even have a transfer case. It uses a PTO off the transmission. Craziest "awd" system I've ever seen....
This is the way every single FWD biased AWD system works. Subaru, Ford, GM, etc, etc. Only RWD biased AWD platforms use a transfer case. The RWD biased is better for towing and if you have lots of power, but is far worse from an efficiency standpoint.
Hahaha, It's an embryo, put it back!!!
That's awesomely said, as well as dip switches.
It really does look like a Cube 4x4, kinda like the ice cream truck on D60s!

It's the first AWD vehicle I've ever owned. All others were either FWD or an FSJ.
I like the looks of it. Will probably see a couple show up around the high school as I start driving. 10 times better than the new Cherokee IMO. I really like the front view and the rear and sides are starting to grow on me. At least it'll usually be in the rear view
