Yeah, Chrysler mentioned this just recently. Stating that the Wrangler will get refreshed in 2015 (MY2016), and that diesel's and a pickup are a good "possibility".

If they ever do decide to do this I think they'll sell pretty good but it will be competition for the Ram so who knows.
If Jeep were to build a bare bones no frills 4x4 that's utilitarian like the old flat fenders I'd be hard pressed not to get one, especially if there was an optional 3pt hitch and pto.

Dunno about competition, but it's a good contender to fill the domestic small truck niche. Since GM axed the Colrado, For axed the Ranger, and Dodge axed the dakota.. Who knows right?
