Posting pics no easier

Post by Flashlight »

I had hopes that posting new pics would be streamlined but its not. I can't even get my Avatar posted using Photobucket anymore. All my other sites I can upload directly from Kodak. It was bad enough going from camera to Kodak to Photobucket to website. I really don't need a third Photo Shop do I?? Can anybody tell me the new trick?

I think its easier, just use the "IMG" button and go right from Photobucket.

I could not get my avatar to post from photobucket no matter what I tried either. Would not recognize the URL

I do not have a photobucket account, guess I will have to create one. I am thinking the issue is the link being used. This forum like most newer one imposes image limits so we don't have people posting gigantic images. Because of this it has to be able to load the image itself to determine the size.

As for the avatar, there is no reason to use photobucket as you can upload straight to forum itself.

I have no problem with Photobucket. All my pics posted here are for Photobucket (~100 pics).

I dragged mine over from Photobucket. Had to downsize it to 100x75 first, copied the direct link and squeezed it between the IMGIMG after choosing the "link from offsite image" thingy.

Hope this helps.

I use notepad when linking multiple pics. I basically just right click on whatever image I want to link, and select 'copy link location', then I paste it in some IMG brackets.

the text in the note pad looks something like this;

[img]www.nameofsite.com/path_to_image/sub_pa ... gename.jpg

the only difference is I don't have the trailing space at the end of

I got tired of photobucket's crap and went to imageshack, I'm sure they will eventually ruin it somehow also.

I have never understood the complaints I hear about Photobucket. Krista and I have been posting pictures from there for a few years now. Whatever works for you is what I say. ;)

I don't remember what finally pushed me over the edge. Who knows maybe I just forgot my login password.

It's not as fast at is could be, it's bogged down but it's free so I don't complain.

Well, Thanks for the help, I am making progress, but I'm not sure why my pic is so scrunched up looking. I suspect its when I entered 100x100 pix size. Any suggestions

I found I had to enter 100x75 as posted earlier.

100x100 is the max, but your photo like most are not a square aspect ratio. It is wider than tall. So it needs to be adjusted so that the aspect ratio is kept. So try 100 wide by 75 tall like mentioned above.
