Garage art

Post by Yeller »

I know we all work on stuff and have meaningless stuff just because we like it. How many of you have art pieces, signs, car parts and what not hanging on you garage/shop walls? If you do let’s see them :D

I’ll start, here’s one of my pieces. A bell housing adapter off of my J truck, a BOP engine to Nailhead transmission. When I pulled the engine out of the truck the transmission bell was broken and engine trashed so I kept the adapter as art. I have more and will add but what do you have?

Here’s some more. The first tube buggy I was ever commissioned to build, couple of panels off of a WeRock Promod racer that I helped campaign for 13 seasons and my first attempt at a logo for a business that I was trying to get off the ground in the early 2000’s.

If I could only post pictures. I’m sure I could entertain you fellows with several pages of pictures, most of it belongs to my father next door. Here is a video showing “some” of his “stuff” the focus is on cars but if you look close you can see some of his art work ha has spent the last 20 years creating. https://www.facebook.com/Hagerty/videos ... 618207627/
I used to name my FSJ’s after their previous owners, I realized I had too many with five named Rick.

After getting run out of the shop by the heat today I got busy in the garage (heated and cooled 😎) and got some wall art hung. Just need some headlights and marker lights.

I wish that I kept more of my vintage stuff for Art. However, I was doing it as a business and all the valuble stuff had to be sold to pay bills. Some of the stuff I wish I kept:
  • FSJ tailgates
    Scout 800 tailgate
    Gladiator Grills
    Muscle Grills
    '64 F100 Grill
    WT Finders

Yes, it has been quite a trip living next door for the last 35 years.

Not shown is a tractor he created. The body is a steel fuel tank from a Wagoneer. Also not shown is a contraption that looks much like a Ford Model T. The fenders are made from a Cherokee roof panel.

Been hanging up more stuff. Spare FSJ hood and a porcelain Fina sign. I’ve had the sign for a couple of decades, it hung on the shop at my old house. Been debating whether to put it on the shop or on the wall in the garage for far too long. Hung it on the wall today 😎

I've never seen a FINA sign that anyone kept, it looks awesome right where it's at! I wish I had more stuff like that to hang up.

It’s a really cool sign but since it’s a Fina sign not very valuable. I looked at selling it a while back and for its value didn’t warrant loading it up lol. It’s a shame since 6’ porcelain signs are now fairly rare.
