Been thinking about selling this. I haven't redone the interior yet or added the Vintage Air. Carpet would be inexpensive to change though.
New tires, suspension, 97 ZJ 5.2/44RE, all newer seals, everything in the dash works. No water leaks. Tinted, new Kenwood deck, H4 conversion, S10 steering box, WeatherTech mats.
Think I can get $4k or more for it?
85 Grand Wagoneer 5.2/44RE/NP229
98 TJ 5.9/46RE/D300
97 F250 Powerstroke
1980 Cherokee wrangled & mangled
MSD complete system
Eddy intake
Holley 650
Comp cam 270H
4" Rusty's
Ramsey 12K winch
208
Built to drive not sit in the garage.
No longer strangled. I didn't build it for anyone else.
If you can't improve it why waste your time?

Let me know if you're seriously considering...
I will. I'll probably put it here first so maybe an enthusiast can take it and finish the interior.

Been running great. No codes from first fire. I was very surprised. Only thing that bothers me is the electric fuel pump I used has no check valve, and the WJ fuel filter is supposed to have one, but doesn't work worth a damn evidently. So I have long crank after it sits for a little bit.
Also wanted to update this. The fuel pump failed (Neihoff I've had for 10 years in a box). I installed an Airtex, and all of the long crank went away. Starts just as well as a 98 Jeep will. Very happy with it.
So much I'm using the WJ filter as a pressure regulator with a Chevy pump ina fuel cell for the 5.9 magnum in my Wrangler.
Here's a peak at that project.

Wife has been driving this for over a year. Gets about 14 mpg. Still haven't done the interior. We are getting her an Expedition this weekend, so it'll be my driver for a little until I probably sell it.
Not sure if I'm going to do the carpet and seats before I sell it. Probably will, I'll get an okay return if I do I think.
I used it for a mountain bike trip today.

I realize this thread is very old, but I got a 81 Wagoneer and would like to swap in a 5.9 Dodge Magnum engine. Unfortunately, all the pictures are gone. Can they be reposted??

Unfortunately the user that created this thread has not logged in since 2016. So sadly its unlikely the photos will be made available again Its one of the downsides of hosting the photos on the a third party site.
