Well I’m in Kenosha at an AMC show. So far there hasn’t been many fsj’s, but at the swap meet I did buy an underdash a/c unit and a head liner. I have the a/c unit for my truck but it’s all busted up. So I figured, $125 for the a/c and head liner, I might as well.

This is a pic of my ac unit. Pretty good find I’d say. Sadly all of the vents are busted though. But it will still blow (hopefully cold) air so that’s all that mattersImage

And this is my head liner. It’s pretty dirty but it should clean up well. It’s in pretty good shape I think.

Nice build thread.
Good to see there are still younger folks interested in fixing up old cars!
Like the look of the 33's on there. I've got rollers on mine now but I need to decide on tires soon. Thinking 35's might be a little too big for my stock Dana 44, so this gives me reassurance that it will still look good with 4" lift and 33's.
Also 33's are a lot better on the bank!
Interesting content about the drive train. I have a 2000 Silverado and have often wondered how a swap would go.

Yeah thank you! I too really like the look of the 33’s. They’re really bald (just rollers) but they work. They probably measure closer to a 32” than a 33” with how bald they are. When I do put tires on I’m thinking of running a 33x10.50 just to give it the narrower pizza-cutter style look. Plus then it will handle better on road. As for the swap, it was really easy overall. We probably could’ve had it on the road months ago if we had found that dang wire I would definitely recommend the swap.

So today I ordered a 1997 s10 blazer 19 gallon tank and fuel pump for 250 bucks off of rock auto. I am planning on putting it behind the rear axle where the spare tire would go. I don’t have a plan for gas tank straps yet so any ideas would be helpful.

Why only a 19 gl tank?

These are links for the fuel pump and gas tank. The links are for amazon where it is more expensive but it has the part number you need for rockauto.

I guess I don’t remember the size. It was either like 19 or 20ish I don’t remember the exact size. There were two options and they were both right around 20 gallons if I remember right.

The Chevy K5 Blazer had a 31 gl, and saw recently someone had a 33 gl from a Ford Bronco

My original plan was to run a k5 blazer tank but with the depth of it, it would hang really low below the frame rails. And I’ve seen much more info of people running the s10 blazer tank on here.

Yep, depending on use, determines that size does matter in this instance :)

Got the gas tank. Started cutting out the old reciever hitch since it was a backyard hillbilly fabricated hunk of junk that probably couldn’t have towed a 1,000 pound trailerImage

Here’s the new tank. We put tape over the fuel pump hole so we don’t get rust in the tank. The tank is nice and shinyImage

We welded in 2 pieces of 1” square tubing 35 inches long 12.5 inches apart to bolt the gas tank straps to. The reason for 12.5 is because that’s where the 2 ribs on the top of the gas tank are.

So adding the second tank?

Or replacing the oem with this one?

Probably been asked already but I forgot :/

Replacing the oem one because it has the in-tank electric fuel pump, and the oem gas tank straps/skid plate were about 80% rusted through.

Gas tank installed. We don’t have the filler hose yet and we don’t have the fuel pump wires hooked up, or the fuel lines hooked up but we have the lines routed so once we get the clips to hook up the fuel line, fuel pump wires, and put on the fuel filler hose it should be ready to fire.
