Take one of your fav songs involving a truck...

Post by sierrablue »

Just for fun, pick a song you like, that involves a truck. Now change the lyrics (Chevy and Chevrolet work well for Wagoneer guys, as Chevy can become Waggy, and Chevrolet can become Wagoneer, unless it has to rhyme) to something that fits you and your rig.

Mine:

"Mud on the Tires" by Brad Paisley

Original:
I've got some big news
The bank finally came through
And I'm holdin' the keys to a brand-new Chevrolet
Have you been outside, it sure is a nice night
How about a little test drive
Down by the lake?

There's a place I know about where the dirt road runs out
We can try out the four-wheel drive
Come on now what do you say
Girl, I can hardly wait to get a little mud on the tires

Edited:
I've got some big news
The bank finally came through
And I'm holdin' the keys to an old-school Wagoneer
Have you been outside, it sure is a nice night
How about a little test drive
Down by the lake

There's a place I know about where the dirt road runs out
We can try out the four-wheel drive
Come on now what do you say

I'm not 100% sure why you'd need a loan to buy an old Wagoneer, but you never know ;) And that's the only change you really need to make to it.

There are 2 major differences between new Wranglers and FSJs. FSJs are meant to be both utilitarian and capable, not just capable. FSJs are also rarely initially recognized as Jeeps by the average American.

I’ll play along. I’m using the song “First Kiss” by Kid Rock.

Original lyrics:

I remember waiting for the school bus
Jenny Clayton was my first crush
And neither one of us had a clue
An old Cheyenne it was my first truck
Rusted, rough and kinda beat up
But when she jumped in it felt brand new
And now these days when I drive through a small town
I turn my stereo up and roll my windows down
'cause it reminds me of my first kiss
And those days that I always miss
Tom Petty on the radio
Going steady with nowhere to go
No money just time to spend
An old Chevy and a couple friends
Oh how I wish that I could go back in time
Just to love you again
I remember drinking from the same cup
We'd break up just to make up
I remember falling in love with you
Smokin' cigarettes on the tailgate
Man it seems like it was yesterday
When Main Street felt like Park Avenue
And when I'm driving through any ol' small town
I turn my stereo up and roll my windows down
'cause it reminds me of my first kiss
And those times that I always miss
Tom Petty on the radio
Going steady with nowhere to go
No money just time to spend
An old Chevy and a couple friends
Oh how I wish that I could go back in time
When forever felt like it would never come
And we never thought we'd turn 21
So young we thought this could never end
Oh how I wish we could go back again
Oh yeah yeah
Ooh ooh ooh
And now that time has taken over
And we can't fight this getting older
But somehow baby we made it through (we made it through)
And every time I'm a lookin' at you
It reminds me of my first kiss
And those days that I always miss
Tom Petty on the radio
Going steady with nowhere to go
No money just time to spend
An old Chevy and a couple friends
Oh how I wish that I could go back in time

New Lyrics:

An old J10 it was my first truck
Rusted, rough and kinda beat up
But when she jumped in it felt brand new

'cause it reminds me of my first kiss
And those days that I always miss

I came up with another one:

"She Had Me at Heads Carolina" by Cole Swindell

Original Chorus:

"Heads Carolina, tails California"
Maybe she'd fall for a boy from South Georgia
She's got the bar in the palm of her hand
And she's a '90s country fan like I am
Hey, I got a Chevy, she can flip a quarter
I'd drive her anywhere from here to California
When this song is over, I gotta find her
'Cause she had me at "Heads Carolina"

Modified Chorus:
"Heads Carolina, tails California"
Maybe she'd fall for a boy from Minnesota
She's got the bar in the palm of her hand
And she's a '90s country fan like I am
Hey, I got a Waggy, she can flip a quarter
I'd drive her anywhere from here to California
When this song is over, I gotta find her
'Cause she had me at "Heads Carolina"
