Final Edition Grill; Plastic or Aluminium?

Post by The PIG Smith »

Did Jeep produce the Grand Wagoneer Final Edition grill surround in:
1. Plastic only?
2. Aluminium and Plastic?

The surround was exclusively made in aluminum. The headlight bezels and grille inserts are all plastic, except for maybe some strips down the middle.

There are 2 major differences between new Wranglers and FSJs. FSJs are meant to be both utilitarian and capable, not just capable. FSJs are also rarely initially recognized as Jeeps by the average American.

EDIT to correct mistake:
I have a Muscle insert in a Final Edition surround on my 1986 J20 and the surround is plastic.
Most the plastic tabs are broken and the whole grill assembly flaps in the wind when driving.
...of course is hard on the remaining mounting tabs.

I have never seen a final edition grill that wasn't aluminum, until now.
I am on the lookup for an aluminum Muscle grill surround or a Final Edition Wagoneer grill surround.

You sure thats so weird.. I have a muscle grill in my 90. From an 83 cherokee and its outside frame with the JEEP logo is aluminum.. only plastic is the insert and headlight bezels. I didnt use the JEEP logo outer frame as itd be dumb to have that and my hood ornament say Jeep and Jeep... So i used my 90s frame. And the 83s insert. My muscle grills original frame is just sitting in my shop. Where are you located ? It isnt like show quality.. its got some scratchs a dent or two on the top left. But you can have it if you want it lol .. If youre close by

Now i have seen the outer frame on pics and videos peal the shiney part like a banana or like old paint which is very weird. Mine dont

I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The first of the week, I will be driving from Dallas, TX via Nashville, TN back to Indiana.
I enjoy a good road trip and am willing travel to accept your gift of an aluminum Jeep grill surround.

Interesting, I have never seen an 80's grill where the surround is plastic. Every one I have seen has a metal surround, and the insert is plastic. For both muscle grills GW grills. Though I don't think I have ever checked a 90-91 grill.

I'm looking for a nice grill surround as well, in plastic or aluminum. Willing to pay a fair price, pay shipping & packaging. I live in Oregon.
