Reviving a dead thread here, but hoping OP can help me with a pump rebuild question.

TSM says I need to remove the shaft seal to access the relief valve cap, spring and valve.

What tool did you use to to this? Pic doesn't identify a part number. ImageImage

Got it figured out. I think the way the TSM describes the disassembly is wrong.
After browsing the Ford forums, it seems like the general consensus is to split the case halves first, then pull out the impeller and input shaft from the back. The last part I removed was the oil shaft seal and then re-installed the input shaft from the front to avoid damaging the seal.
