My 77 Honcho

Post by HOOT »

As it was when I brought it home from Utah in 2005 IIRC. Drove it until OK city, OK. From there it was put on my new Big Tex trailer it has been dragging along since Cedar City , Utah. Took me 7 days to get that far and while fueling up I noticed it was getting a flat. While airing up I realized it was blowing water and oil out the exhaust pretty bad, so on the trailer it went and pulled with a U Haul van. Drove it around town a few years then tore into it and just now getting back to working on it.

Here is what it has looked like when on the move the last few years.

This is where it keeps its Mojo.

Lots of Mojo converted here in its factory issued 4OH1 :-bd

That seam split you see there is the only flaw to that seat. Door panels have some water damage. Dash is in great shape.

I think thats the first J-Truck I have seen with that little Jeep logo on the side.

Wish my J10's interior was as nice as that one is.

Is the little logo you are talking about is the red decal on the lower fender, I think thats a Levis decal for the special option interior. Its hard for me to see detail on my crappy work monitor.

No, the one on the cab right behind the door. It could be this is common, I just have not seen one before. And my J10 has no badges at all.

Not sure if that Jeep logo is factory placed or added. I do think I've seen others in that locale before though.

The red badge down on the fender is indeed a Levi's sticker. My Dad's 76 Honcho was also a Levi's optioned truck but it never had that sticker on it. I think it had the roof pillar Jeep tag though.

Here is how it looks as of last Sunday. Getting ready for the M715 bed. Hope to get it tucked into the garage this weekend. Then the fun begins.
