Carburetor question

78 J 10 258 Carter Carb 2425. I can only run the truck with the choke almost all the way closed with just a crack of opening. What would this mean?

Vacuum leak most likely. Closing the choke is limiting the air it can pull in.

Take a can of brake clean and start to spray things, see if the idle changes. Around the base of the carb and vacuum line connections is a good place to start.

Thank you! I took every thing on and going to the carb. and sprayed it out. Then I blew it out with air. This truck runs GREAT! I'm so happy!!!!
