NP219 viscous coupler same as NP229?

Post by 78 Arizona Chief »

Can anyone confirm if the viscous couple found in a NP229 transfer case is the same as the vc found in a NP219 t-case? Thanks for any and all help.

I cannot answer that question, but know that the coupler can be disassembled and the plates bolted together and reinstalled. I have a couple questionable VC's here from 229's, if you want to try it ones yours... ;)

According to the AMC Eagle guys, the VC is the same part for the 119, 129, 219 and 229 cases.
