That's good, I'll be liftless in a non FSJ, first time there. We expect to be along sometime on Tuesday, any idea on what time the KOA will let you check in?
My issue several times.
I think their policy is 1pm.
I'm an early mover, once or twice I have shown up with last nights guests still there.
I just find a tree to nap under.
Mon night we expect to stay somewhere between Hill City, SD and Ouray, may actually be within a few hours of Ouray, could actually make it in one long day, but our reservation is for Tues.

Crap that is a long drive!

If anyone shows up too early in the day you can hang out at my spot. 47B. Nice shade. I will most likely be off wheel'n. There will be a red 'coca cola' cooler that's easy to spot.

Thanks Michel, I've left a message for Dave or Debra to call me back. Once they do, I'll give them your name and let you know to give them a call.

I appreciate you taking over my spot. :-bd

Site 49 is now taken by member letank. Good to see you are coming Michel! :-bd

Site 50, 61B and 112 still available through members who originally reserved them.

Map will be updated in the next day or so...

Thanks.

KOA Reservation Summary

Post by fulsizjeep »

I was checking my KOA Reservation Summary by email this morning and noticed they had us checking out on Saturday the 20th. I thought for sure I reserved through the 20th. It was available and I got it changed. Fortunately, nobody had reserved 47A for the 20th.

It is a good idea to check those KOA Reservation Summaries when you get one in your email.

Thanks

A long drive was Kalspal, MT to Brainered, MN in one shot 21 hours, google says Hill City to Ouray is about 11 hours.

First time for me, but I'll be easy to spot in a big white GMC. :D

I don't know how you are getting across the Rockies but if you are going through route 50 don't plan on making a fast run through the canyon. Getting to Montrose seemed like forever last year in the F350 with NO trailer.
Besides that drive is so pretty it deserves a leisurely day time drive..I'll never do a evening drive again just because of the sun glare and missed scenery after the sun set. I rolled into Montrose at 10pm. I should of stayed in Salida for the night.

It's funny to make a drive like that at night then do it again in the day time..."I drove thru THIS!?!"

It's good to see on the map letank replace me in spot 49. That just leaves spot 50.

It got me thinking that if nobody takes spot 50, if everyone kicks in just $3 or $4 you all could pay for it and not have any outsiders in amoungst you. Plus, it would give you all a second common meeting spot.

You all have a great and safe time. Like I told Flint, "I will keep reserving a spot every year because one of these years my truck will be finished and I'll actually make it". :-bd

Maybe I missed it but site 50 was already taken by a couple FSJers.

No more KOA sites to change. Right? Right?

Let's do this chingasa chimichanga.

Don't forget to check that you have a good spare tire... that can be used full time...

18hrs drive.... will probably turn to 20hrs... at least no snow storm in the forecast such as what happend on 2 of my 3 last Moab trips...

We'll be coming from the north, my Dear Wife and walking map/middle kid 9 years old have picked out a route to go around Denver, I need to get in route study mode myself. We'll have the 'burb and '73 starcraft popup so not much of a trailer. If we split up the Hill City to Ouray into 2 days I think we can go at a nice pace.

SITE 47F IS AVAILIBLE

I accepted a promotion at work and lost my scheduled vacation. Small price to pay for more money and real weekends (maybe...jury is still out.)

And of course my jeep is ready to go...mostly.

Anybody who wants the site better speak up quickly. I'm calling Dave on Saturday.
