Interesting that the concept vehicles haven't been Fiat-ised yet.

It sure is, well, the body anyway. It's a cool rig, sure it drives way better than stock.

Is it just me, or do all the JK-based vehicles' wheels and tires look ridiculously big?

I'm not sure what you mean... Fiat is a smart company, I doubt they will muck around with Jeep's core market. In fact, I think these concepts demonstrate that Fiat/Jeep is fishing to see if the old "core market" these sort of Jeeps would cater to still exists. The Land Cruiser has gone all soft (at least in the US), and Land Rover's vehicles have gone all luxury on us. The question is, is there still a market for a "real" Jeep, and I think these concepts show that Fiat/Jeep is trying to find that out.

Well the tires on the 715 are roughly 38" tall but only 8" or so wide, so gives them a goofy look.

The TrailCat also has 40's on it, only a proper width.

I dunno about that, but I digress. After owning an '80 and '100 I feel the 'cruisers are hard to beat. The new ones have a lot more stuff in relation to traction control which is 'sick'. Too bad they are over 100k tho.

The current ones are SOOOO big and heavy though. They have a curb weight of 5800lbs, they basically are meant for people that want an expensive SUV to show off to their friends. When they have been tested offroad, they just have not done well. I really do not think they can be compared to older models like you have.

Saw you mention that in a thread the other day, and wondered if this was one in the same! Very cool..

I would love to own a modernized FC. The mighty FC was another concept by this same group, right? Thought that thing was amazing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... The Crew Chief concept looks amazing. If they mate it with a small diesel, manual trans and 4:1 transfer case, I would get in line to buy it. Honestly, even with the 3.6l (even though I'm not a big fan of than engine), I'd still probably lay down some cash for it.

Jeep already stated they plan on offering the 3.0L EcoDiesel in the next gen Wrangler (same engine found in the GC and Ram 1500). And the Rubicon does have a 4:1.

I am not sure if they would actually offer something this large though. They are coming out with a pickup Wrangler, but I think it will be more along the lines of the J12 concept, rather than a big quad cab. But we will have to wait and see.
