I've noticed a few of you guys who have done diesel swaps talk about reinforcing the frame. What have you guys done? Is it really necessary or is it just typical FSJ modification logic? Build it bullet proof.

First post on here, and I too have the same question as I'm have a Cummins 6BT I'm looking to swap into a 76 Cherokee wide track. I have some ideas of what I'm going to do for some added strength, but would be curious in other lessons learned.

I have a 12 valve 6BT in my J20 and I did box the frame but I don't think it was really necessary. I have been driving it for 4 years now with no problems.

You could also add extra cross members or add some beef tot he existing ones
