Full Size Jeep Network

This is my truck. Pics a few years old (thanks Photobucket and a dead laptop) so, it has a few more dents and no doors, now. I kinda know what I want to do but, I wanna hear other's opinions, as well.

The reason I ask, arrived today. Wanted this since the day I bought the truck, ... What, 12 years ago, iirc? Dang! My first FSJ, btw.



Sadly, I will be without the truck for awhile. Buddy of mine has experience, and a bender, volunteered to build the cage. I'm still gonna buy his wire, gas, etc. And I'll pay him for his time, even though he won't ask. He's an old HS buddy that lives a few hours away so it'll be nice to see him once in awhile while he has my truck but that means I won't have my truck. Still excited to finally be getting a cage. I'll probably put it on it's side before I get it home!

I vote for interior for the cage, but that's a personal preference. I just don't like the look of Exo on old iron personally. It's your truck you rock what you want though

Get some 1/2 emt and a bender and mock them up and see what you like.

The interior cage will require a lot less material, but can be harder to weld in. Their primary use is to protect the people in the cab in case of a rollover.

Exo cages can be nice if plan on rolling on a regular basis as they protect the body from crunching in. One roll into hard rocks with the interior cage and your cab is done.

I was going to say an exo can also protect the body from damage, but perhaps its a bit too late for that.

Yeah, my a-pillar already has a good crunch from leaning into a tree. Replacing the broken windshield may be problematic, now. I'm not worried about beauty but, I do want to keep the basic shape of the cab from changing any further. And yeah, this truck is likely to be rolled more than once so, exo is making the most sense, so far.

I like the idea of the exo-cage to protect the fenders and roof of our classic jeeps. Plus, you can hang stuff on them. One of my bucket list items is a J10 cab on a Wagoneer frame with a Bobbed bed, 42" Bogger Sx tires, with a small diesel and OD transmission. Id have street 40s as my daily driver tires.

Its a ton of work, but i like how my interior cage came out.

In your case I would go exo.

Dropped the truck and tubing off yesterday. Crzyxj as he's known in the offroad race world has free rein to get the cage, sliders, and seats in/on it now.
