79 Cherokee windshield

First post here. Recently got a 79 Cherokee widetrack and I wanted to know what glass is still available to buy? I planned on removed the side windows and the windshield but with most things I'm worried about breaking the glass and not having a replacement.

Yes, you can get windshields. Safelite and so on can get and install them for you.
Side windows, I am not as sure on. But since those are flat glass, there are places that can custom make them for you worse case scenario.

you do not list your location, but I recently got one from a local company for $180 dropped off to my shop.

I do not need one currently I wanted to see if they were available before I have mine removed for painting

I heard horror stories from Safelite. Had a bad experience myself with them when they replaced my windshield on my 06 LJ.
I am also looking at getting a new windshield for my 78 Chief. I’ll be calling local windshield shops first and use Safelite as a worse-case scenario.
I think the problem (from what I’ve read on forums) is that most places don’t know how to install it correctly on these old FSJs.

I have two side windows from a 79 cherokee cheif. Rubber is still very soft and pliable too

The back/ tailgate glass is the impossible find. Don't break it!

fyi,to all jeepers safelite glass is a low quality glass made to their specifications , it meets federal standards but just barely.

Yes theyre complete functioning. Pop outs lock and pop out easily Super soft rubber. Frames in good shape with only very minor corrosion in the gasket.. that can be cleaned. The gasket seems like new i was surpsied i can fold a lip and it flips right back to position
Id like maybe 150$ for both i paid 100$ for them in the yard so my time and effort i think its fair. Its just the shipping that would be a killer due to size and weight. Im in Nortthern virginia. Where are you ?
