will amc 287 exhaust manifolds fit an amc 327 so left side will exit at the rear so I can do away with the cross over pipe and go with dual exhaust ?

also interesting reading about the amc 287 and 327. is it true that intake manifolds and other parts are the same , just bore size is different ?

There was a 250, a 287 and a 327. AFAIK they are all the same block (aside from the bore) and heads, so their manifolds should interchange. With different bores, each block would have its own casting, minimizing machining and waste material. There is some info on the Jubilee Jeeps site - http://jubileejeeps.org/327/index.htm - the author (Flint) is a member here and may join in.

Basically, what comes stock in the FSJ uses two right hand exhaust manifolds on the 327. This provides exhaust exit at the left front of the motor for the crossover pipe to wrap around the front. AFAIK, the exhaust and intake manifolds are the same between the 250/287/327 for the car applications. Also for cars, the right and left hand exhaust manifolds are different from each other and they exit at the back of the engine. That said, what you want is a left hand exhaust manifold from a car application.
