After a year of making relay harnesses I've decided to take a break from it. I have few headlight harnesses and relay modules left to sell, but I won't be making new once those are sold, at least for now.

3D printed stuff is still available, and if you need something else printed - feel free to send me a PM

Thanks to everyone who bought my relays, I hope you're all enjoying them!

3 window/lock relays and enough parts for 6 or 7 headlight harnesses. I’ve added amount of stuff I have left to the first post and I’ll be updating it as they go

I doubt that I will soon - unless I set up LLC or something, I can’t deduct parts costs for taxes and the whole thing is barely profitable.

I can share all the parts numbers (schematics are available anyway) if anyone wants to build them.

Sirrus,

Can you message me? Or I can just post my question to you on here. I usually always post on other forums and Facebook Groups and not on here. Actually I think this is my first one, so I can't message anyone yet because I don't have enough posts. Thank you. Josh

Would definitely be interested in the part numbers for the relay. I appreciate it.

To svaras, bernheiser and everyone else who wants these relays,

Today I learned there is going to be someone else making these relay harnesses, based on my design but much improved and more plug and play. I don't know when exactly they are going to be available for ordering, but I'll update this thread once they are.

If you don't want to wait and prefer making your own - send me a PM, but keep in mind that aside from parts (relays, enclosures, TPAs, seals, terminals, wires and such) you will also need couple specialty tools like a good MetriPack crimper and high wattage soldering iron or hydraulic crimper. I used mine a lot for various wiring jobs on my Jeep, but I wouldn't invest in these tools if I only needed them once.

I will go ahead and put it out there, so people are not left wondering. That other person is going to be me. I have made the first production set for someone and they will receive them in the mail tomorrow. I did the first prototype in my Grand Wagoneer to ensure it functioned as it should. I ordered some more parts today that should come in within the next week or so to do 15 individual relay kits. I didn't intend on starting this early, but it appears there is more interest in these than I first thought. Someone already wants a set of 5 for all the window motors. SO, I will probably be ordering more parts tomorrow to be able to build more kits. I will only be doing window and door lock relay kits though at the moment. I haven't set up a vendor page yet and this is actually my first official announcement that I will be doing it. Most of my posts are on different Facebook FSJ Groups. When I get something more official set up, I will share it with Sirrus, so he can share a link. And I want to thank him for giving me the original idea to base my setup off of. I don't think I have enough posts yet on this Forum to message anyone. If you have Facebook, here is a link to the first production set I built. I hope I am allowed to do that for the moment. It was a driver's side master window switch set I rebuilt and the four window relay kits and one tailgate window kit. I will have better pictures of what the kits will actually look like. This one was a custom build and the pieces on the end of some of the wires are the connectors taped on that will be crimped on using a regular set of crimpers, not any specialized ones like I use for the connectors. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... 051&type=3 . If you do have Facebook for the time being, you can feel free to instant message me on there, I am Josh. Or if you have enough posts, you can message me your email and I can contact you that way. I just didn't want everyone left waiting to see when something was going to happen.

looks like some nice work!
What I would like to see, i'm getting ready to start on it for myself,
instead of 5 relays laying around screwed to this panel and that panel, do a relay panel with 1/2 dozen smaller fuses for other accessories some constant some switched
and we can mount it out by the battery

Fine idea, I did that for some accessory fuses and relays on my Jeep. Wouldn’t really work for windows and tailgate - first you’ll need 10 relays to cover them (and it’s not easy to find a fuse relay box that houses 10+ relays), and second you’ll need to put some good 12ga wire from battery to every door and tailgate. Having relays close to motor solves both problems

I know me personally, I gave it a lot of thought before modeling my design after Sirrus's design. I spent over a month drawing up different designs on a CAD program based on other individual's designs, designs that I thought of, designs based on other cars and who knows what else. The reason I personally came up with my "final" product. I say final like that, because technology is always advancing and my brain is always going, kind of a curse at times. So, improvements may and most likely will come over time. I am an Instrumentation Engineer with an Electronics Engineer background, so I am lucky enough to work with some advanced technology that I cannot personally afford, but it gives me ideas and I get many vendors sending emails almost every day about new products. So, I am always thinking of new things to build and it drives my wife crazy at times. And with the ones I am building, I am flexible on how things are done. But this product is very easy to install and is much more cost effective.

The reason I didn't end up going with the way you are talking about is because I like to have my engine bay clean and free of as many wires and components as possible, just my personal preference. I am not saying yours is a bad idea, because I actually have something similar in my GW. I have a larger gauge wire coming off of my battery to a distribution block inside the dash area, That feeds an additional fuse/relay box that I use for additional accessories. I also have a larger than factory alternator. Additionally, the other reason I didn't do it like you are saying for the power window/locks and such, is it is not as user friendly for a lot of people. Most people have limited specialized electrical tools ad also limited electrical/electronics knowledge. And by doing it with one in each door keeps costs down for the customer, cuts down install time and lowers the possibility for mistakes being made. For individuals that have the right tools, electrical/electronics knowledge are probably for the most part not the ones buying these kits, although some may be, because they think for the cost it is worth it for them based on the time it would take for them to build them properly. But with all that being said, I am not saying your idea is a bad one, it is just one of those ones for those who have the proper knowledge to do this, so something isn't wired up improperly and next thing you know, you have battery drain. Sorry for the long rant, I started writing it at the beginning of my morning pot of coffee and finished writing after completing the pot of coffee. lol
