Today I had a little time to work on steering. This steering column is from a 1991 Jeep XJ Cherokee. My favorite donor vehicle. We will set about modifying it for my rig.

Also worked on the under dash ac unit. Found that the dash has all of the required holes ready in it? I also decided to bond the two parts of under dash ac. And put some screws in it to solidify the connections.

As with everything I do. I like to make sure everything is up to the quality I want. So I am building the lights to verify. I will use the Sylvania bulbs only for setup. My KCLIGHTS bulbs should be in next week. Then I will reconfigure them. But it will be a while until headlights are installed. Like a crowning touch. So just continuing waiting for cab and parts to go to painter.

I put the adjuster nuts on backwards and used original screws.

Ok, so I am so wishy washy. I have decided to give a new approach to fuel tank. I am going or elimination of stock tank from JKU. And will be using a rear tank. This brings up a skid pan Issue I will have to address . It never ends I swear.
But this will allow me to use a true dual exhaust system. And since my LS will be a slight choppy idle. I want to hear it and annoy everyone….lol

So my dash piece came in custom made. I will probably Raptor Line it also with the metal dash. And then lay the custom carpet dash mat over it….lol

Have to do a little adjustments to make it 100% for me.

hello, have been following your build thread as I have a 72 J4000, dunno if you would be interested, there is a guy on ebay selling the gaskets that go between the headlight buckets and the body, he adverts them for willys jeeps but they fit perfectly on my 72 buckets, good quality rubber gaskets, just in case you're interested

Went over to body shop last week. They are still dealing with nitemare of moving. They had been in same location 19 years. They have now moved into one of my mom’s buildings in our complex. So they have not had a chance to get back to it. But he did play with seam sealer last week. And promises in next week to get going on it.

So couple of weeks ago. I took off a bunch of parts. I decided I wanted a little bit more Yukon Purple parts. I also moved forward with Moto-Bilt Inc. fuel tank setup.

Had to delete my pristine transfer case skid plate.

And remove the stock Jeep JKU fuel tank and also pristine fuel skid plate.

Test fitting of new replacement fuel tank and skid plate.

Well I went to El Dorado, Ca. To pick up this Gem on 28th of May. Happy 58th birthday to me. It was not the golden treasure I hoped for. In the pictures I seen, it appeared tailgate was in great shape. It was not. It is more bowed and twisted than a 80 year old cowboy legs.. But I am a hoarder so still bought it and brought it home.

It is rough. But has clean title and currently on non-op. And I had the parts to get hubs and wheels and lug nuts on it. 5.7L with Turbo 400 Automatic it appears. 1968 Vintage. Even the tail lights are good.
