Dipstick tube

After 400 miles I changed oil. While I had it up on Jack’s I cleaned suspension bolts and rust penetrant. My vacuum motor to engage 4x4 was disconnected from the tc. Lowered it, went to check oil level and out came the dipstick with the tube on it!
Help, have no idea how to attempt this repair.

Ordered new dipstick tube and bracket that fits on valve cover from BJs. New oil pan gasket and studs since I have to drop oil pan to repair. My GW did Not have the bracket, anyone have a picture of how the bracket mounts to the valve cover? Thanks!!!!

It’s a simple flat piece of metal with two holes - one for valve cover bolt and one for the tube. You can either cut it yourself or get from BJs for $8 https://www.bjsoffroad.com/Oil-Dipstick ... p_636.html

Plenty of options on eBay as well

Thank You!!!! Going to replace rear main seal while I’m at it. Got a 1.5 inch clamp holding a piece of rubber to seal up the hole. It fits under the lip of the oil pan, so here’s hoping it holds till parts come.

Gotta drive it! Parked in garage so I fell ok to take for short trips. Guilty pleasure
