Opinion of 4sp conversion Parts for sale

I have a pile of parts from my 76 J20 360 engine D20, an entire 4sd OEM setup that were removed and then the Rig was out-fitted with a TH400.

It's a great driver now as it is, manual to Auto conversion was very good.
So someone now wants all the 4sp conversion take out parts.

I am trying to get a sense of value on the pile of parts would actually be.

As why am seeking feedback some or opinions on what realistic value on parts as a whole 'KIT" here, as I realize all parts like this in one shot here is a unique rare buying opportunity for anyone.

I'll toss out a guess and suggest $750-$1,000 considering all things, parts good quality and all things a 'kit' as a whole etc..

Thx

I think that is a reasonable estimate.

This should have the long input T-18 with a Dana 20 in 1976. The CJ guys sometimes pick these up (inexpensively) for conversion, principally for the main shaft and trans-TC adapter. These can be combined with Ford T-18 parts in a few different ways to make a short input Texas pattern T-18. The long input is specific to the V8 FSJs and has no value except for that application.

If you want to sell all the parts you removed as a kit for conversion to 4-speed, you'll need to market to a '71-79 FSJ owner that has a TH400 and wants the factory truck 4-speed. Questions about this conversion come up a few times a year here and at IFSJA. I'd think you could get something like $750 for all of it, if you find the right buyer and they are close enough that shipping is not prohibitive. Might take a while to sell it. If I wanted a 4-speed truck, I would look for a complete 4-speed donor or a complete truck to start with, since buying the conversion parts piece-by-piece would be time consuming and possibly expensive. You'll need to convince the buyer that you have all the pieces they need to do the conversion, if you want to get a good price for the parts. One aspect in your favor - there are a lot fewer manual transmission FSJs than automatics, so the right buyer might be highly motivated.

There is a set of four speed pedals and clutch linkage between frame and bellhousing for $275 right now, I'm not sure how fast that will move... All of the vehicles I drive are stick shifts, I have converted several Chevy trucks from automatic to manual, its definitely sweet to get all the parts in one deal!
