Seeing this makes me glad I didn't buy those 2 trucks from you. I would have pulled the salvageable parts and scrapped the rest. does my heart good to see them both living on. I need to tell you my 75 Bronco story, its much the same, built from vehicles that I had managed to destroy, none of them made by Ford LOL
The bus I ride is so short it is a yellow Smart Car full of squirrels, monkeys and clowns.

The truck got new shoes today. I only put about a mile on it just running it down the road but they felt pretty good and smooth. With the wheel offset the front stinks out a little over 2”, but in WI that’s legal (and theres stupid looking trucks running around with I’m pretty sure about 4” wide spacers).

Did a little tinkering today and also got the trucks out for a photoshoot. The frame flexes pretty good on the orange oneImage. Most likely because it was made to be a one piece tub not a cab and bed but oh well, not my concern.

Also built a spare tire carrier not in the pic. Not 100% happy with it, started out with the tire facing out, but with the offset decided to turn it around, so now the tire is leaned over up against the bedside and tub. It will get updated but it should work for now.Image

This is the mounting piece from the outside. Will use a rope lock thing to lock it up most likely. This picture was from before the wheel was turned around. For the bottom, I welded a nut into the bottom of the tube and have a bolt going up through below the floor that was it is less ugly, and the piece that the tire mounts too can go up and down, so since there isn’t a big base, I can also take the piece all the way off.

This is how it’s mounted (very bad lighting, I know, I took it at 5:45 this morning). It has a nut welded on to the piece so that I can tighten it so it doesn’t move back and forth.

Thanks devildog! Image
Here is a photo to show how the tire is leaned. It’s honestly kind of nice this way because it hide perfectly behind the high back bucket, doesn’t really impede backing up or blindspot vision.

It’s refreshing to see your thoughts about vision mounting the spare tire. I hate a centered rear mounted spare, it’s always in the way, especially over sized tires. Like it:)
