Great Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion 2023

Well, another year of GSMJI in the books.

Saw more FSJ'S than usual in the vendor area. It's cool to see them get some industry visibility.

The Golden Eagle had an immaculate restoration done on it. It utilized a 2023 Chevy Silverado drive train. Wouldn't have been my first choice for a motor and trans, but it was very well done.

There was also this cool J10. It was a girl who built it, and it used to be her dad's rig. She said the build wasn't complete yet, so I am interested to see this one when it's finished. I think the suspension will need some adjustments.

I also saw the Sasquatch Cherokee that got a lot of attention at Sema and has been popular on social media. Didn't get to talk to the owner, but it looked like a LS swap and 4 Linked.

I know the Unicorn J truck was there as well, but I didn't get to see it in person.

Lots of V8 swapped late model Jeeps this year. There is a company called America's Most Wanted 4x4 that is building 800+ horsepower rigs. I've been hearing about this company, and their work is impressive.

On a side note, I am working on getting a partial wrap for my J3000 that will be like a livery with all of the brands that I used in the build. It's a pretty cool removable and reusable system from 4X4 Attitude. I am wanting companies to use it as a display vehicle at expos and maybe get some sponsorships. Very cool. Chris Durham’s JK/gladiator is always cool.

That grey J10 qualifies for ae sketchy steering award. But at least that have the drag link and trac-bar lined up. Still pretty cringe though.

But that CJ6 is really nice.

And yeah, Durham's JK is a really cool rig.

Yeah that j10 made my eyes bleed, can appreciate the metal work but practicality of design and handling is sketchy at best.

The CJ-6 has Tuxedo Park badges and associated extra chrome bits. Rare vehicle if genuine. In this case its rarity is prized by collectors, though it's got a lot of extra stuff added (generally tolerated by the CJ fans).

Did not know the JKU belonged to a well known member of the FSJ community. I checked out his website and saw he also offers reproduction parts for FSJ's. I mainly know this rig from the Ultimate Adventure series on Motortrend.

I am pretty sure the CJ6 is legit. I spoke with the owner, but don't recall the exact details of the conversation. I was well hydrated by that point in the day.

As for the J10, I was more admittedly more interested in the owner than the Jeep itself lol.
Any girl that drives an FSJ is a 10/10 in my book, regardless of the suspension setup!

No doubt. No chance he'd strip a CJ-5 to make it. Rare, as in something like a dozen of them IIRC. Rare.
