Ya i saw the video of this on youtube. I can see why Jeep didnt bring this into production. With a shortage of cash it was probably best to keep the two Models they had going versus making a 3rd.

Plus that rear seating area is too small for practical use anyway

The article says it was “built on a Wagoneer frame”. I don’t think so.

The box is probably the 7 foot variety and it looks like about 12” was added to the cab. This combination would fit on the long wheelbase J series frame. Moreover, the Wagoneer frame body mounting brackets are about 1 inch lower than the Truck frame brackets. These brackets would have to be relocated or spacers added to raise the body back up. In addition the cross section of the truck frame is taller than the Wagoneer frame giving it higher load capacity.

A Wagoneer frame doesn’t make sense here.

The closer frame rails were maybe stronger in their minds?

I don't disagree, however it IS Jeep--since when do they do stuff because it makes sense? :lol:
