Need leaf springs too. One of the rear has two broken springs. So i need at least one spring.. preferably replace both as a pair. But the 8ft J10/20 springs are diff from the 7ft bed. They are not the same 76+ like ppl have been saying.. theyre offset by 3/4 of an inch back. So 25 1/4 front and 31 3/4 rear.. while the cherokee/wagoneer and 7ft J10 etc are 26 and 31.
I found out i can order those springs and get a offset plate for the flat part on the axle tube that has holes drilled forward and back by 1 inch.. This will allow the 26 / 31 spring to mount without shifting my axle position.. well itll shift by 1/4 inch.. but thats better than 3/4. I jist gatta drill the top u bolt plate.
Im suprised by this as everyone says 76+ 8/7 ft beds springs are the same.. and lift kits say they are.. but nope they are not.. or least they shouldnt be.. Unless you like your axle shifted 3/4 of an inch. All i jear is ppl say the bed was extended by the cabin and springs are the same.. but they deff are NOT
I actually did get tires today.. found used ones. Goodyear wrangler radials.. actually have 98% of the tread left.. was only 250$ mounted and balenced. Lol.
Here is the vid of it running.. and my youtube channle if you wanna follow along or see past videos of how i rebuilt the bed
Use seafoam, Ive seen impressive results on it. Put in crankcase and fuel tank both.
Likely shot vlv seals. Which means a redo on them. Yet if the heads are original I'de do a vlv job on the heads. Especially is they have more than 100K on them.
See the boroscope to view low comp 135, look at cyl walls if its scared up some. Need to verify if its seals or the rings/walls have abnormal wear pattern.
BTW, How many miles on it?
Seems I've never got a car or truck from ppl that had 2cents competence on oil-filter regular changes.
If it has had lousy maint history, on oil-filter intervals then that might be a possible suspect on things.
84k miles. Unknown history in the vehicle other than plow. Ill recheck cylinder 1 for scratchs.. i believe it was cylinder 2 and 5 though that had them
My gw seems to have had more abuse tbh. But i just changed the diff.. and trans and quadrtrac fluidd. And i can tell they havent been touched.. ever.

Same issue, burning oil on startup... pulled the plug and got an oily #6 -that is after 200 miles-

cleaned and rechecked 24hrs later, no crank during this 24hrs, there was some oil, but it ran fine, albeit I could smell some oil when cutting off throttle... but after 150ish miles the smell was less.
Checked after overnight rest and the plug is clean as the other one that I pulled, after 180miles

For the curious mind: I swapped plugs #6 and #2 for the return trip to make sure that it was the cylinder and not the plug that was the weak link.
