Th400 filter bolt.. Filter is lose ?

Post by candymancan »

Putting my pan back on after being off about a week.. i noticed when i put it all back tigether.. (o ring on the trans side and shove that plastic tube in the filter itself. Then put the filter on and bilt.. That the bolt diesnt snug against the filter.. the filter is lose and floats or wobbles.. lol is this normal ?? Was almost thinking if adding some washers in there to make up the slack.. but i cant remember if this was how it was or not

Yeah I was recently watching videos on how to rebuild a TH400 and the master mechanic in the video specifically pointed out the loose filter/bolt thing and mentioned a lot of people mistakenly stack washers in there to make the filter not move. Sounds like you found a similar video but figured I'd reply to help confirm what you found. Let it float! haha
